Australian soprano Nicole Car has established herself as one of the leading sopranos of her generation and has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. Often praised for her beautiful, rich timbre and her unique musicality, Nicole was recently made a Chevalier de l’ordre des arts et des lettres de la république de France.
During the 25/26 season Nicole debuts all three leading heroines in Puccini’s Il Trittico with Wiener Staatsoper and after her successful role debut as Dvořák’s Rusalka at Opera Australia this summer, she brings the title heroine to Opéra National de Paris as well as Wiener Staatsoper. Nicole also returns to her Verdian repertoire by reappearing at The Dallas Opera for Elisabetta in Don Carlo and Deutsche Oper Berlin for Amelia in Simon Boccanegra. She also brings her signature role of Mimì in La bohème to San Francisco Opera, Opéra National de Paris and Wiener Staatsoper. On the concert stage she will be heard as Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes at the Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and as a soloist for a gala concert honoring the memory of Jodie Devos with the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège.
